Good afternoon one and all....
04 NOV 2005
Good afternoon one and all. A very brief item here (unless I start rambling which I invariably will...in fact I already am). We are not repeat not playing Blakes on Telegraph on November 9th. We've made several attempts to contact them but they won't take it off their website. I am coincidentally thinking of usurping the show with my Captain & Tennille cover band. I'll keep you posted.
Quickly: (told you I'd be rambly today) We're playing a benefit show tonight at Studio Z. We're on around 9:30. Last night's show despite my well-earned hangover and severe soreness was a damn fine time so a thanks to Zippy & Nic for the invite. Ok. See you tonight. Hopefully.
Good morning. Or afternoon....
08 NOV 2005
Good morning. Or afternoon. Or whatever it is wherever you are. I only have a few things to post today so let's get going.
First off to reiterate: we're not playing Blakes tomorrow--which is Wednesday the 9th. It's off the Blake's website but pesky advertisements in the Guardian & online are still lying. In other words you'll have to wait until the 28th. We're sad too.
Two new reviews today too. One is in the always nifty
Gorilla vs. Bear while the other is in
Zero Mag. We are ubiquitous. We are unstoppable.
I swear soon I'll have some news that isn't a review or a blog. But you'll have to be patient.
If you're like me today's...

If you're like me today's the last day of work until next Monday. That's four glorious days off of turkeys relatives and ass-sitting. Let's enjoy it.
Of course then Monday will roll around & we'll all return from our various mini-vacations and heroic acts of gluttony stuck back at work. But have no fear! Because Monday night we're playing at the always stupendous Cafe Du Nord with some other fine locals
Scissors for Lefty. It's going to be a two band bill so we can all get some rest but by jove is it going to rock. And if you don't believe me just listen to that darn liberal media:
the Guardian and
Flavor Pill want you to go. Frankly so do I. There's even this super cool poster I'm trying to link but since my internet skills are woefully inadequate you can check it out on our
myspace page in the meantime.
Eat well one and all. Give thanks. And come Monday. We miss you.
Three things:Cafe du Nord...
29 NOV 2005
Three things:
Cafe du Nord last night was epic and not in an exaggerated sort of way. More in a Herculean sort of way. We arrived to a dance floor that had flooded devolved into a lagoon and seemed to have no plans of letting up. But such things would not derail the evening. 2 hours were spent moving gear & the PA to the back of the venue supplanting the pool table and we spent the rest of the night rocking with vim and valor. It was triumphant. Seriously. Much applause to all especially du Nord for making the best of what could have been an awful and soggy situation. And of course thanks a million to everyone who treked through the rain on a Monday night for us. We had a ball. Hope you did as well.
Secondly we'll be back to du Nord in a week. Well a week and a day. Why? you ask.
This is why. We'll be try to finagle our way onto Live 105's Not So Silent Night. Come join us if you can. We might even play on the stage.
Last and certainly not least I want to plug a show on Wednesday. Ted over at
BAGeL Radio has put together a
damn fine show with three damn fine California bands. And it's free. And it's at the Mezzanine. What else do I have to say?
